π€DAX Copilot (AI-Powered Clinical Documentation)
DAX Copilot is an AI-powered documentation solution integrated with Epic that securely converts patient-provider conversations into draft clinical notes. Designed to reduce documentation burden and improve efficiency, DAX Copilot helps providers spend more time focused on patient care and less time on documentation. Itβs accessed through your phone using Epic Haiku or Canto and automatically converts multi-party conversations into specialty-specific, standardized clinical summaries that are available for review in Epic soon after the patient encounter.
This site provides information about DAX Copilot eligibility, supported devices, onboarding requirements, training materials, workflow guidance, and specialty-specific resources for providers using DAX Copilot at UConn Health.
Providers are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all AI-generated documentation before finalizing and signing their notes.
π Getting Started
Providers interested in using DAX Copilot must complete the following onboarding steps:
- Click to submit a DAX Copilot User Access Request (UAR).
- Complete assigned DAX Copilot training.
- Allow the Mobile Team to deploy and configure Haiku on your approved device. You will receive an email stating 'access approved' once this is completed.
Note: approval can take up to 48 hours. - DAX Copilot access will be enabled after onboarding requirements are completed.
UConn Health does support multi-institutional access within the Epic Haiku application. Therefore, if you are currently using Haiku, provisioning your phone with the assistance of UConn Health Mobility will not require its removal. A drop-down menu will form allowing you to switch between organizations.
