As part of UConn Health’s ongoing efforts to improve our financial performance, we are partnering with a national consulting firm specializing in hospital financial and operational improvement, to conduct an organization-wide assessment and help us identify opportunities to reduce expenses and generate revenue.

Key areas of focus include:

• Hospital Operations
• Physician Group Operations
• Clinical Revenue Cycle
• Non-Labor Expense Reductions

The assessment will also identify ways to improve patient service and overall satisfaction for our patients and team members.

The consulting firm’s assessment will include data analysis, comparison of UConn Health key metrics, processes, workflows, and reporting against industry benchmarks, leadership interviews, staff job shadowing, and a final presentation of findings and recommendations.

Following this opportunity assessment, leadership will prioritize the opportunities and outline and launch a multi-year implementation plan for our new financial improvement plan.
