Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Antoinette Schoenthaler as the new Assistant Vice President for Inclusion and Health Equity at UConn Health, effective September 4, 2026.

In this important leadership role, Antoinette will report to Dr. Andrew Agwunobi and Dr. Jeffrey Hines and work closely with academic, research, clinical care, and community leaders to provide strategic direction and leadership to advance diversity, inclusion, belonging, and health equity initiatives across our institution.  

Antoinette brings extensive senior health equity executive leadership experience in advancing health equity and inclusivity across academic medicine, health systems, and national partnerships.  She is a recognized leader in translating behavioral science principles and implementation science into enterprise-wide strategies, operational guidance, and measurable improvements in organizational performance and outcomes. This background will be invaluable as we continue to build a culture that prioritizes belonging, respect, and equitable opportunity for all.  Antoinette joins us from the Institute for Excellence in Health Equity at NYU Langone Health where she was Director of the Health Equity through Learning, Innovation, and eXchange Lab (HELIX).  Her expertise will help strengthen and accelerate our efforts to improve outcomes, enhance belonging, and support excellence across the organization.
