We are deeply saddened to share that Igor Serebriakov, a beloved member of our UConn Health family, passed away on Tuesday, March 4.

Igor worked for the state of Connecticut since 1998, primarily at UConn Health, where he supported IT infrastructure, and he served as the director of infrastructure since 2015.

Igor was proud to be from Russia and was one of the first exchange students between the USSR and the United States at Trinity College in Hartford. He had a strong connection with UConn. He and his wife, Tatiana, returned to the United States for their son Konstantin’s leukemia treatment at UConn Health until he passed away at age 5 in 1995.

Igor started his career at UConn Health in 1998 and earned two master’s degrees at UConn, in higher education administration from the Neag School of Education and an executive MBA from the School of Business in 2021. Igor was proud of his son, Nickolai, who graduated from UConn School of Engineering in 2020 and now has a successful career as an engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat.

Igor formed many friendships while working at UConn Health. His kindness, smile, and fun facts brightened our days and brought positive energy to UConn Health. He will be greatly missed, especially by the IT team.

Please see his obituary.
