Safe & Timely Transportation

At UConn Health the patient transportation unit provides safe and timely transportation of inpatients, equipment, specimens, blood, and patient related items so that clinical staff can concentrate on providing excellent patient care. The unit also responds to medical emergencies, activation of the command center, and disasters.

The patient transportation unit is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is a cooperative effort between the Office of Logistics Management, Nursing, and the transporting personnel.

All requests for transport should be placed in Epic. For access to place both patient and non-patient transport requests in Epic contact the Epic help desk.
