An Evening of Excellence: The Dr. Peter J. Deckers Employee Appreciation Award and Dr. Richard H. Simon Excellence in Clinical Neurosciences Awards
Join us on Thursday, January 8 at 4 PM in the Academic Rotunda for an inspiring celebration honoring those who elevate the UConn Health community through extraordinary dedication, leadership, and innovation.
This special evening will recognize individuals whose extraordinary dedication, leadership, and innovation have made a lasting impact and continue to elevate the UConn Health community.
We encourage faculty, staff, and leaders to bring their teams and share in this meaningful celebration of excellence, appreciation, and peer recognition. The Evening of Excellence offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and applaud the outstanding contributions of colleagues who embody UConn Health’s values and commitment to excellence.

PAWS and TEAMS Awards
The PAWS Individual Award celebrates UConn Health's best workforce, who consistently go above and beyond, embodying teamwork, positivity, a strong work ethic, and superior service. Through the PAWS award, we celebrate excellence and foster a culture of appreciation.
To nominate outstanding colleagues who make a difference, complete the PAWS Award Nomination Form.
The TEAMS Award is a formal recognition of a team effort that furthers the mission of UConn Health. During the process, the team demonstrates Togetherness, Effort, positive Attitude, and Motivation. In addition, a specific outcome must have benefited UConn Health's mission, such as but not limited to programs that had a positive impact on education, patient care, or research. Teams may consist of special workgroups, cross-functional workgroups, task forces, special project teams, departments, or committees.

The Dr. Richard Simon Excellence in Clinical Neurosciences Award
The Dr. Richard Simon Excellence in Clinical Neurosciences Award is presented annually to honor Dr. Simon’s distinguished career at UConn Health and his pioneering contributions to medicine. This award recognizes a clinician, staff member, or student who exemplifies excellence in any area of the neurosciences at UConn Health, celebrating outstanding achievement, innovation, and dedication to advancing clinical care and scholarship in the neurosciences.
The Dr. Peter J. Deckers Awards
The Dr. Peter J. Deckers Employee Appreciation Award is presented annually to recognize one outstanding UConn Health employee who consistently demonstrates exceptional commitment and passion, strong leadership, exemplary professional skills, and commendable personal attributes in support of the UConn Health mission. This award represents one of the highest honors bestowed upon UConn Health employees.
