To support ongoing engagement with Policy Manager, the Policy Team is offering the following training and education sessions. These sessions are designed to reinforce key aspects of Policy Manager and enhance your understanding of its features and processes. Questions? Contact policy@uchc.edu for more information.

Session Descriptions

Policy Drop-in Sessions 

Join at any time during the drop-in session to receive direct guidance from a member of the Policy Team. Ask questions about anything Policy-related (Policy Manager, policy process, etc.), or simply listen to gain insights. No registration required. The monthly drop-in sessions can be accessed using the same Microsoft Teams meeting link each time.

Policy Manager 101 – Intro Refresher  

This brief 30-minute session revisits the basics of Policy Manager, reviewing the essential topics covered in the mandatory Policy Manager Introductory Training in Saba. Pre-registration is required.

Topics include: 

  • Navigating the homepage and menu 
  • Tips for finding documents, including search techniques and other helpful tools 
  • Exploring the document view page to access detailed document information 

Policy Manager 102 – Task Management

When assigned a task in Policy Manager, you are responsible for the review and/or approval of a policy or other standards document in the system. Pre-registration is required.

This session will cover: 

  • How to complete a task 
  • How to monitor processes (i.e., check the status of a document in an approval process) 
  • The collaborative editing tool 
  • Approver responsibilities 

Best Practices for Policy Writing 

This session highlights best practices for drafting policies, with an emphasis on organized structure, the use of plain and inclusive language, and other key elements necessary to ensure that policies are accessible, understandable, and actionable. Pre-registration is required.
