Waterbury Hospital officially became UConn Health Waterbury Hospital Sunday, March 1, 2026. A dramatic symbol of this new partnership is the sign atop the nine-story Waterbury Hospital main building, which opened in 1911. The removal of the old sign and the installation of the new letters took more than a week and was done by Sign-Pro in Plantsville.
