Peer to Peer Recognition

At UConn Health, we believe that fostering a supportive and appreciative work environment is crucial to our success. Our peer-to-peer recognition programs empower employees to acknowledge and celebrate each other's contributions, both professional and personal. We offer two types of peer recognition:

Performance Recognition

At UConn Health, we believe in celebrating excellence and acknowledging the outstanding contributions of our workforce. Our performance recognition programs are designed to highlight individuals and teams who go above and beyond in their commitment to our values and mission. We offer several avenues for recognizing exceptional performance:

PAWS Award

The PAWS award celebrates UConn Health's best workforce, who consistently go above and beyond, embodying teamwork, positivity, a strong work ethic, and superior service. Through the PAWS award, we celebrate excellence and foster a culture of appreciation. Employees who receive four PAWS awards earn the distinguished Husky Hero designation, recognizing their consistent excellence and dedication to UConn Health's values. To nominate outstanding colleagues who make a difference, complete the PAWS Award Nomination Form.

PAWS TEAM Award

The TEAM award is a formal recognition of a team effort that furthers the mission of UConn Health. During the process, the team demonstrates Togetherness, Effort, positive Attitude, and Motivation. In addition, a specific outcome must have benefited UConn Health's mission, such as but not limited to programs that had a positive impact on education, patient care, or research. Teams may consist of special workgroups, cross-functional workgroups, task forces, special project teams, departments, or committees.

PAWS Ceremony

Individual, TEAM, and Husky Hero Recipients are recognized at a PAWS Award ceremony held twice a year. The 2024 Spring/Summer Ceremony will be on Tuesday, June 25 at noon in Keller Auditorium. Visit the PAWS Awardees page for event details and the Honoree listing.

Career Milestones

Proudly, UConn Health has a long-standing tradition of honoring employees' years of service for career commitment and dedication. Each calendar year, members of our workforce are recognized when attaining a service milestone in 5-year increments. Career milestones are based on UConn Health service, which is adjusted for breaks in service but is not pro-rated.

5, 10, 15, and 20 Years of Service
